Howard Guy - CEO
"If a designer is not an optimist and a dreamer then design is not the right career for them"
Inspired by the 1960’s TV show ‘Thunderbirds’, Howard spent his childhood dreaming and designing remarkable things. At school, Art and Metalwork were the highlight of his week and the exposure of Fine Art, Graphic Design and Furniture Design firmly set him on a career path of designing and making.
Howard obtained a BA Honours degree in Industrial Design and Engineering before successfully gaining a place at The Royal College of Art in London, where he went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Automotive Design.
Howard began at Jaguar Cars in 1987 where he took concept designs through to production with engineering and the supply base. Later progressing to Principal Designer in 1993 he established the marketing direction on the iconic Jaguar XJ6 series.
In 1997 Howard Guy and Gary Doy formed Design Q. For Howard, Design Q was born out of a need to venture into the unknown and to be more ambitious and forward thinking in the world of design.
Howard’s objective for Design Q now is to be bigger, faster and sexier with the aim of lifting clients higher than the rest.
