In their latest issue, Business Aviation Magazine wrote an article entitled 'Outstanding Design Q'. The very flattering piece talks about our 'exemplary work and expansion plans'. Click the link to read about our latest projects and our plans for the future.
You will have noticed on our social media accounts that the Design Q team have a passion for cars, Classic and Modern. They are 'Petrolheads' and own many unique cars between them.

It's been a year since we delivered the Bespoke Maserati 4200Q to our client John. He is still in love with the design of his car, and while out enjoying the weather with the top down he decided to bring it back home to Design Q and reunite it with the team that created it. Is there anything better than driving for fun, especially when your car is as unique as the 4200Q. It's great for us to see a customer that is happy with his purchase.
We were pleased to see one of our past projects featured in a national TV advertising campaign by Monarch, who are promoting their staff's friendly, genuine and caring cabin crew. Going ‘above and beyond’ and providing excellent service to customers is Monarch's goal, and this also comes down to the seats their customers use.
We designed the PF2000 seat alongside PITCH Aircraft Seating, and Monarch were the first customer to use this innovative seat.

Design Q has been featured on the cover of EVA Magazine's latest issue. EVA sat down with CEO Howard Guy to talk about some of our recent successes, including winning the design job to create the interior of Aerion's Supersonic Jet, in conjunction with Inairvation, and the build of the full size AS2 interior mock-up in our facility.
On a lighter note, Howard also spoke about the adventures we are looking forward to in the next couple of years, creating innovative concepts, our deep understanding that design is more than skin deep, and the enjoyment we get when our clients are happy.
Worth a read!
Last week, Design Q attended the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg to help unveil the premium upgrades we designed for Pitch Aircraft Seating's economy seat. The PF2000 economy seat upgrades were well received at the Expo and interest kept the stand quite busy.
PITCH were showing off their new seat designs, colour and material innovations, and storage options. In addition to their already innovation seat, they wanted to showcase the high level of customisation that's possible with the PF2000.
The Aerion AS2 story has been featured in this months EVA International Magazine. Its an interesting read about an exciting project in Business Aviation. Design Q are Inairvation's preferred design supplier for interior design.
Anthony Harrington - Editor EVA International says ''The top business aviation story of 2015, undoubtedly, has to be Flexjet’s order for 20 of Aerion’s yet-to-be built AS2 supersonic jets. At a stroke that turned business aviation’s dream of supersonic travel into a reality, particularly since, with the support of Airbus, Aerion CEO Doug Nichols – interviewed in this issue – now has the production guns to bring the jet to market. Definitely one to watch.''
Aerion Selects INAIRVATION to Develop World’s First Supersonic Business Jet Cabin “With INAIRVATION, we gain industry leading expertise from Lufthansa Technik, F/LIST and their preferred partners,” says Aerion’s Nichols.
Las Vegas, NV, NBAA – November 16, 2015
Aerion, the leader in supersonic technology, announced today that INAIRVATION will develop innovative cabin interiors for the AS2 supersonic business jet, as well as manage their certification and production.
INAIRVATION GmbH, formed in 2014, is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG and F. LIST GMBH, (commonly F/LIST) with preferred partners Design Q for interior design and SCHOTT for lighting. INAIRVATION is the first provider to offer completely integrated business jet cabin solutions.
In announcing the selection, Aerion CEO Doug Nichols stated: “INAIRVATION impressed us immensely for several reasons: the quality of their interior design thinking; their demonstrated commitment to innovation; their ability to integrate design, engineering, certification, and manufacturing; and the exceptional history of each individual company under the INAIRVATION umbrella.”
“The INAIRVATION organization itself is an innovation,” he added, “and represents an advance in the integration of cabin technologies from various suppliers. Also, we are absolutely impressed with the passion and creativity INAIRVATION brings to the Aerion program.”
Lufthansa Technik, headquartered in Hamburg, is well known for complex completion projects, cabin management systems, and cabin integration services. F/ LIST, based in Thomasberg, Austria, is a major supplier of cabin monuments, including galleys, cabinetry, side ledges, tables, and innovative, ultra light wood and stone flooring. INAIRVATION is also based in Thomasberg and led by co CEOs Dr. Philip von Schroeter of Lufthansa Technik and Werner Kartner from F/LIST. Preferred supplier SCHOTT is an industry leader in advanced cabin lighting systems, including LED and fiber optic technologies. Design Q is a specialist in automotive and aviation design, and won acclaim in 2014 for a full scale Global 7000 mockup created for Bombardier. “The opportunity to participate in the design of a supersonic business jet thrills our whole organization,” said von Schroeter. “It is the kind of technologic and aesthetic challenge for which INAIRVATION was created. We are brimming with ideas for making the AS2 cabin the most exciting and desirable interior environment in business aviation.”
Already the INAIRVATION team has built a full scale engineering mockup of the AS2 interior at Design Q’s studio in Redditch, England. Aerion and INAIRVATION are using the mockup to assess possible configurations for cockpit and cabin. “The mockup provides an experience that is not possible looking at a 3D model on a computer,” said Nichols. “Stepping inside was instant confirmation that we would be able to offer the customer not only an incredibly fast airplane, but the ultimate passenger experience.”
Representatives of INAIRVATION will be in the Aerion booth C9429 through the NBAA show, providing virtual tours of the AS2 cabin using Samsung VR viewing technology.
